Apple has published the official trailer for Finch, a new sci-fi film for Apple TV+ starring Tom Hanks, who is a relatively unknown actor. Finch is a post-apocalyptic film about a robotics engineer and the connection he develops with his dog and a robot in a post-apocalyptic world that has been reduced to a wasteland by a catastrophic catastrophe, and it will be available to watch exclusively on Apple’s premium streaming service on November 5. Caleb Landry Jones, who has previously appeared in films such as X-Men: First Class and Get Out, provides the voice of Finch’s mechanical companion.
Apple has released the following description for the film, which is directed by Miguel Sapochnik (Game of Thrones, Iron Fist) and based on an original screenplay by Craig Luck, a relative newcomer:
A man, a robot, and a dog create an unusual family in “Finch,” a dramatic and emotional story about one man’s mission to guarantee that his beloved canine friend is cared for when he passes away. Finch, a robotics engineer and one of the few survivors of a catastrophic solar event that has left the planet a wasteland, is played by Tom Hanks. Finch, on the other hand, has created his own universe, which he lives with his dog, Goodyear, who has been living in an underground bunker for a decade. When he can no longer watch over Goodyear, he develops a robot, portrayed by Jones. Finch tries to teach his creation, Jeff, the pleasure and wonder of what it is to be alive as the three embarks on a hazardous trip across the barren American West. As difficult as it is for Finch to persuade Jeff and Goodyear to get along as it is for him to handle the perils of the new world, their road journey is filled with both difficulties and comedy.
Apple TV+ is a $4.99/month ad-free streaming service that offers new original content every month. It was launched on November 19, 2019. Subscribers may use Apple’s TV app on certain Apple devices, smart TVs, game consoles, and streaming devices to access the service.
